Franklin Public Library to Offer Mini-Workshops on Free Databases

In honor of National Library Card Sign-up Month, Franklin Public Library will be offering 30-minute workshops on their various free databases every Tuesday night in September.
September 6, 6:00pm – Ancestry and Heritage Quest: Discover your family history and start creating your family tree. Learn how to access billions of genealogy records including Census, SSDI, & Military records.
September 13, 6:00pm – Mango Languages: Learn over 60 languages from the comfort and convenience of your own home. Mango Languages focuses on practical, everyday words and phrases and offers voice comparison tools and cultural insights to strengthen your skills.
September 20, 6:00pm – Gale Courses: Expand your knowledge with hundreds of free courses focused on professional development, technology skills, and personal enrichment. Topics include accounting and finance, healthcare and medical, law, language arts, writing and publishing and much more. Six-week long courses are taught entirely online by instructors, and new sessions begin every month.
September 27, 6:00pm – AtoZdatabases: Find jobs, people, and businesses in this premiere reference database. AtoZdatabases includes 2.3 million job listings, 30 million business and executive profiles, 1.1 million healthcare professionals, and much more. It is ideal for sales leads, mailing lists, market research, employment opportunities, resume templates, and finding friends and relatives.
All of these databases and many more are free to Franklin Public Library card holders. Any Milwaukee County resident is eligible to receive a Franklin Public Library card. To register, simply bring a current driver’s license, identification card, or photo ID plus addressed mail to the check-out desk inside the library.
