Get Crafty with Wednesday Workshops
December 15, 2016
FRANKLIN, WI – If you’ve ever wanted to learn a new craft, here’s your chance! Franklin Public Library is hosting crafting workshops the second Wednesday of every month in their new CreateSpace. These fun, hands-on lessons, deemed “Wednesday Workshops,” cover the full spectrum of do-it-yourself crafting and offer opportunities to learn new skill in a comfortable, friendly, low-stress environment.
All workshops start at noon and run between one and two hours. Materials, like the workshops themselves, are all provided free of cost.
January 11: Mindfulness Jars – Mindfulness Jars, also known as Calm Down Jars, use water and glitter to calm one’s emotions and clear one’s mind during difficult times. When shaken, the glitter represents turbulent thoughts and emotions. As it settles, so does the mind. Clear water is eventually all that remains, mimicking a clearer mind.
February 8: Mini Terrariums – Terrariums are miniature gardens made set inside glass containers. We provide the plants and embellishments, you create your own design!
March 8: Knitting 101 – In this hands-on tutorial, you will learn how to cast on, cast off, and knit two basic stitches.
Registration for Wednesday Workshops is required. For more information or to register for a workshop, call the Information Desk at (414) 425-8214 or stop in the library at 9151 W Loomis Road.
