Geology Rocks!
The Franklin Public Library will literally be rockin’ Tues., July 14 when Wisconsin geologist Jason Rehorst visits for a talk on geology. Jason will cover some basic geology terminology, rock identification, and rock collecting as a hobby. He’ll also give a basic intro to paleontology, and a brief ancient history of Wisconsin, and what fossils can be found here in our home state. Jason will also have a variety of rock specimens on display for the audience to check out!

Classic Movie Matinee -- Glory
Join us Thursday, July 2 at 1pm for the Classic Movie Matinee showing of Glory.

This award-winning 1989 war drama follows the 54th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment, one of the first African American fighting units in the Civil War. Starring Matthew Broderick, Morgan Freeman, Denzel Washington and Cary Elwes, the film depicts the regiment from its formation to its heroic fighting in the Second Battle of Fort Wagner in South Carolina in 1863.

If you are a Milwaukee County resident and do not already have a library card, you can register online to be a patron of the library system.
