Decorating sugar skulls is a Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) custom to honor the dead, which originated in ancient Mesoamerica, primarily in what is now central and southern Mexico. Teens are invited to decorate ceramic sugar skulls using paint, markers, and embellishments to create unique, colorful designs that honor this meaningful cultural symbol.
