From 1968, this lush adaptation of Shakespeare’s romantic tragedy tells the tale of Romeo and Juliet, teenaged star-crossed young lovers in 14th century Verona, Italy. After meeting at a masquerade ball one evening, Romeo and Juliet fall instantly in love. They try to surmount the obstacles to their romance, but the bitter feud between their families proves to be too strong, and their story ends with tragic consequences.
